Our Founder/CEO

Jessica DeJesus, founder of TaxSpace, is a seasoned tax professional with 20 years of experience in accounting, procurement, regulatory compliance, and public works. She has held leadership roles across government, corporate, and education sectors, including serving as Deputy Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia and as Director of the Research Support Center (RSC) at the University of Pennsylvania’s Stuart Weitzman School of Design—all while building her business, TaxSpace, since 1997. Jessica began her entrepreneurial journey preparing tax returns for close friends while managing a demanding corporate accounting career.

From a young age, Jessica served as a translator and financial advocate for her Spanish-speaking parents, who had limited formal education. Managing bills, finances, and professional documents—a common experience in many immigrant households—sparked her passion for accounting and business. That passion has guided her throughout her life and career, culminating in the success of TaxSpace, which now serves over 200 clients in the Philadelphia area. Recently, TaxSpace expanded its operations by opening its first storefront in Rockledge, PA.

At Penn, Jessica served as the inaugural Director of the Research Support Center, where she built the office from the ground up. Over seven years, she expanded the team, strengthened faculty collaborations, and oversaw research funding growth to an average of $4+ million annually, earning recognition as a trusted leader and advocate for faculty, staff, and students alike.

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master’s in Law from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. She has participated in the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Business Accelerator Program and holds certification as a Notary Public by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Association of Notaries – Pennsylvania.

Committed to uplifting minority communities, Jessica has dedicated years to economic and professional empowerment, beginning with her own Hispanic community. As President of the Philadelphia Chapter of Prospanica, she led efforts to educate, guide, and empower young Latinos to pursue corporate and higher education opportunities. During her tenure with the City of Philadelphia, she spearheaded initiatives to support over 4,000 underserved businesses through a comprehensive RFP process, increasing awards and fostering business growth. Most recently, Jessica joined the board of Congreso de Latinos Unidos, furthering her commitment to improving access to financial literacy and resources.

TaxSpace provides comprehensive financial solutions, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, notary services, business formation support, and grant financial management. With a focus on personalized service, the team ensures clients receive efficient, compliant, and stress-free financial management. Available remotely in all 50 states or in person at the Rockledge storefront, TaxSpace offers precise tax filing, detailed bookkeeping, strategic grant and contract oversight, and business formation assistance—empowering clients to focus on achieving their goals.

As TaxSpace continues to grow, Jessica remains dedicated to supporting underserved communities.
